It features an innovative optitron instrument panel (available on Levin ZR and Ultima), flying buttress centre console (Hatch only), ergonomic gear lever placement, sleek, slimline seat design and, of course, a raft of smart storage locations. Coupled with a distinctive range of interior colours and trim designs (hatch and sedan have their own unique ranges), and you’ve got a small car that’s as distinctive in style as you are.
Exterior
Auto-levelling headlamps, headlamp cleaners, rain-sensing wipers
Corolla’s exterior doesn’t just look great; it also comes complete with a raft of exterior technologies that make every drive safer and more convenient. Auto-levelling HID headlamps (Levin ZR Hatch and Ultima Sedan) automatically adjust the optical axis based on the car’s load. And they even clean themselves! You just hit the washer button, and Corolla’s unique flip type headlamp cleaners activate, giving you much more effective night-time illumination. Your windscreen wipers, on the other hand, are automatic (Levin ZR & Ultima). As soon as rain is detected on the windscreen, the wipers engage automatically, stopping again when they’re no longer needed. Of course, you can override the auto function at any time, using the standard wiper lever.
Safety
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) & Traction Control (TRC)
Thanks to Toyota's Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC)*, the Corolla provides optimal traction for greater confidence in acceleration and cornering. VSC automatically minimises the effects of oversteering, for smooth, safe cornering. Couple this with TRC and in the wet, dry or snow the Corolla will help get you there safely.

Mechanical
Inspired 1.8-litre dual VVT-i driving performance
If you’re after inspired driving performance from your small car, then Corolla is the intelligent choice. Equipped with a torque-boosting dual VVT-i 1.8-litre engine, it delivers an adrenalising 100kW of power. So no matter where you warm the tyres – city, suburbs, mountains or open road – Corolla has the power to make your journey safe, comfortable and more than a little exhilarating. What’s more, it’s also very economical. In fact, fuel economy is one of the hallmarks of Toyota’s light-weight, low friction dual VVT-i engines. By dynamically varying the intake and exhaust valves, dual VVT-i considerably increases fuel efficiency and reduces harmful exhaust emissions. The 6 speed sedan manual uses only 7.3L* per 100km, and the 4 speed automatic uses just 7.4L*. The 6 speed hatch manual uses only 7.4L* per 100km, and the 4 speed automatic uses just 7.7L*. In other words, the Corolla is a fuel efficient small car that’s good for your wallet and great for the environment!
