Interior
Ample family space & storage
It's longer, it's wider, it's higher. And it's good news for families. Kluger's designers have capitalised on substantially increased overall dimensions, creating an open, airy space that's easier to access, sophisticated and eminently usable. Compared to the previous model, it's 105mm longer on the inside, which translates into noticeably more space between passengers and between rows, especially when you factor in the extended slide range on the 2nd row (7 seat models only). What's more, 2nd and 3rd row passengers sit higher, and the driver is more comfortable, thanks to a telescopic steering column, installed at a more ergonomic angle. And, of course, a longer cargo area, coupled with fold-flat 2nd and 3rd row seats and a variety of clever storage spaces, means significantly more room for luggage (or pram, stroller, baby bag, shopping, toys and beach bag!).
Exterior
Kluger makes its presence known
Purposeful yet sophisticated, muscular yet decidedly refined, Kluger makes its presence known, without making a fuss. Characterised by clean lines, solid contemporary contours and a wide, sure-footed stance, it's a self-contained SUV that's equally at home in all settings and all conditions. With proud fender flares, powerful lower body, innovative combination headlamps and aerodynamic panels, it successfully balances a car-like elegance with the three-dimensional strength and sturdiness of a conventional 4WD.
Safety
Toyota is committed to vehicle safety. That's why we established the Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA) passive safety assessment programme for new cars. First we find the toughest safety standards in the world, then we exceed them.
Active Safety - Vehicle Control Management System
Standard on all models, Kluger's Vehicle Control Management System (VCMS) is like its central nervous system. It uses a Control Area Network (CAN) to link engine output, brake power & distribution, and steering torque, ensuring they all work together effectively in an emergency for much enhanced control, especially when cornering on wet, gravel, or otherwise slippery roads.
Mechanical
Over 200kW of power
With an advanced all-alloy, quad-cam 3.5-litre dual VVT-i V6 engine the Toyota Kluger delivers an impressive 201kW of power. And every kilowatt is self-contained; it’s about smooth, quiet, fuel-efficient and usable power, not unrefined noise and vibration. Thanks to Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) Kluger optimises valve timing across the range of engine operating conditions. Translation? Noticeable performance increases in the low-to-medium and high engine speed ranges.
